Located in the village of Ahascragh in County Galway, Ahascragh Distillery is one of Ireland’s most innovative modern distilleries and the country’s first zero-energy emissions whiskey and gin distillery. Built within a restored 19th-century flour mill, the facility combines historic architecture with modern sustainable distillation technology.

Founded by Gareth and Michelle McAllister, the distillery was developed with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation. The site operates entirely on renewable electricity and advanced heat-pump technology, meaning no fossil fuels are used in the distillation process. This approach allows the distillery to produce spirits with zero energy emissions, setting a new benchmark for environmentally responsible whiskey production in Ireland.
